Privacy is at the heart of the Mobile Connect service

It's important that people are confident that we will respect and protect their privacy. Establishing good privacy practices is key to ensuring trust in mobile identity.

The Mobile Connect Privacy Principles and the Mobile Connect Privacy Promise have been drafted by the GSMA, which represents the interests of mobile operators worldwide, uniting nearly 800 operators with more than 250 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem.

They have been agreed by Regulatory Officers representing GSMA members. Each Operator offering Mobile Connect has also agreed to abide by these principles. Likewise, developers will also need to adhere to them. Users have the right to expect good privacy and security practices from all those who design and operate digital identity services.

These principles apply to all devices and platforms. They are not intended to replace or supersede applicable law, but are based on internationally accepted principles on privacy and data protection.
